You own what you create
Last updated 5 October 2026. Draft awaiting counsel review before paid plans turn on.
Short version: you own all rights to everything you create here, forever. GreenRoomGigs is a place to keep it and share it with the people you pick. It is not a place that takes it.
What you own
Your songs, lyrics, chord charts, setlists, recordings and takes, notes, photos, files, and anything else you write, upload or record on GreenRoomGigs stay yours. That includes the copyright. Using GreenRoomGigs does not transfer any ownership to us, and it does not make us a co-owner, co-writer or publisher of anything. If you write a song with bandmates, whatever you already agreed between yourselves still applies. GreenRoomGigs does not change it.
What we are allowed to do with it
You give GreenRoomGigs a limited licence, and only the limited one needed to run the service: to store your content, keep backups of it, and show it to the people you choose (your band, your solo workspace, a public page or sign-up page you publish yourself). We do not use it for anything else. The licence is not exclusive, and you can still put the same work anywhere else.
What we will not do
- We will not sell your content, rent it out, or license it to anyone.
- We will not use your songs, lyrics, recordings or notes to train AI or machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's.
- We will not publish it, release it, or claim credit for it.
- We will not show it to people you did not choose, apart from the narrow cases in the Privacy Policy (for example a legal order, or an abuse report we have to look into).
Deleting it
When you delete something, it comes out of GreenRoomGigs. Items you delete go to the recycling bin where one exists, and are removed for good when it empties. If you delete your account, your content is removed with it, apart from short-lived backups that expire on their own schedule. Anything a bandmate already copied or downloaded is theirs to handle under whatever you agreed together, and we cannot reach into their devices. You can also download everything we hold about you at any time from your account page.
Your promises to us
Only upload what you have the right to share: your own work, or work you have permission to use. The Terms of Use have the rest.
Like the other pages here, this is a plain-language draft that is waiting for a lawyer to read it. It is still our promise, and we will tell you before anything about it changes.
